Does anyone have any ideas how I can raise autism awareness in my school?

I will be a senior in high school this fall. After high school i want to be a special education teacher and work with autistic kids. A lot of people in my school make fun of kids in the special education classes and I'm sick of it. I think it is mostly because they do not understand. I this problem can be solved and someone needs to do something, and start somewhere. Anyone have any ideas how i can raise autism awareness in my high school?

1. Start a Disabilities club in your school and invite interested people to join it. Some club topics that can be discussed is Autism Awareness, Disabilities Awareness, and Disability Etiquette. Invite various PWDs to speak at your club.

2. Pass out pamphlets that explains Autism.

Why is the light from my laser pointer dotty?

I recently go hold of a class 3 laser pointer from china and I noticed that the light emitted from the area is spotty, a bit like noise on a TV. Why? Also, how powerful is a class 3 laser supposed to be? Will it burn anything?

It is dotty because the light scattered by dust interferes with the direct light and cancels it out in places making dark spots.

I don't know about the power but I doubt that a laser pointer would burn anything since it is only powered by small batteries. As with any laser, it might hurt an eye of someone who looked directly into it, so you should not be pointing it at anyone.

Why don't any of the answers regarding Pocket Beagles really address the true nature of the controversy?

It is false that Pocket Beagles "don't exist". The Beagle is a recognised AKA breed and has a breed standard of 15" and 13" inches. A new breed, the Olde English Pocket Beagle, bred carefully using only purebred Beagles of high quality and diminutive stature with a breed standard of 12" or below and ideally at "10 is emerging and going through the proper steps to be eventuallly recognized by the AKA. Another new breed, much more carelessly and controversially bred mostly from small Beagles with an outflux of Miniature Dachshund blood, the Queen Elizabeth Pocket Beagle, which can get extremely small, has also emerged. It is becoming very popular although the breeding process had many flaws and the dogs may be the next "puppy mill" victims, but the best specimens are fantastic dogs and it's a great shame that more care isn't being taken with them. Many homeless Beagles crossed with Dachshunds(Doxles) or other small breeds are available to adopt through "Beagle Rescues" or Pet Finders

I doubt this "dream" will come to fruition because these dogs ALREADY exist in form of the 13" Beagle, and there *is no functional purpose* for a "slightly smaller" Beagle! WHAT IS THE POINT?

Highly unlikely that these dogs are of "high quality", as no breeder of good quality Beagles would contribute to this farce. Breeding only for small size (and marketability) is *not* an acceptable goal for a responsible breeder. Adding the pointless moniker of "Olde English" isn't going to make them any more legitimate!

It will be on all of the topics you went over in class. The state tests are pretty much the same each year just different worded questions and numbers. Your math teacher should of shown you questions from past/last years test. If you can do those, you should be fine. Nobody knows, not even your teacher, what the questions will be.

I have a problem 15yr old girl and all the private schools are very expensive (4500-8k/mo). Apparently only rich people can afford decent treatment. My insurance won't cover it. I'm sorry to hear about your kitty. You are right. Hills food is crap. But Aldi food is just as crappy if not worse. And Crystals can be deadly to a cat so this isn't somethign to mess around with.

My biggest piece of advice is do NOT listen to your vet about diet with your cat. They don’t know anything about proper feline nutrition. Most never learned anything except what the cat food companies teach them when they sell them thier food. *roll eyes here*Any vet that would tell you to put your sick cat on a garbage food like Science Diet, Royal Canin, or Purina prescription clearly knows NOTHING about cats nutritional needs.

Cats were never designed to eat dry food. NEVER. They eat their prey whole and wet. Cats do not have a thirst mechanism. So because of all that… cats are designed to eat only wet food.

We idiot humans feed dry only for our connivance. Shows how much we know huh?

So because of all the above, we, by feeding dry, are usually the cause of all UTI issues in cats. *Sigh* They do not take in enough water on a dry diet and so their systems do not fully flush out so they get UTI issues.

What you need to do is unconcentrate the urine. To do that you need to stop feeding all dry foods and switch to an all wet diet. Either a canned diet or Raw. Did your vet recommend that? Wet food will help flush the system faster so that crystals and bacteria can not form.

Get your kitty on a STRICKTLY wet food diet. Either high quality canned, or a raw diet. It’s not cheap but it will cost you less in the long run than the vet.

No matter which you choose… no more dry food for your cat ever.

I’ve also had success using Glucosomine and Chrondriton for preventing inflammation in the urethra. Discuss this with your vet and ask them to look into it.

Give your kitty distilled water to drink only. Both my vet and I are convinced after speaking with vets all over the county that the hardness and mineral content in water in different areas contributes to the # of cases of UTI’s in those areas. From here on out… distilled water only.

Another suggestion… is to get kitty a water fountain. I bought the Bigdog Drinkwell for my cats and keep it filled with distilled water and they love it. It’s a great way to encourage their water consumption.

Lastly, get yourself a bag of scientific litter so you can keep track of kittys PH levels at home. You won’t be able to detect the crystals at home that cause blockages, but if the ph was off… you could get kitty in for a urine analysis right away and possibly head off a blockage.

Are you familiar with the book 'The Science of Getting Rich?' I just finished reading this book yet again, and I find myself almost haunted by the simplicity of its teachings. Yet, don't be fooled by the simplicity, the teachings in this book are very powerful and it literally provides the for attracting financial abundance into your life.

The Science of Getting Rich was originally published in 1910 and was written by Wallace Wattles.
