YES- You must log in everyday to post a response or a question to show the professor that you are serious about your education. YES- you must be as organized as you can and because online schools provide the work throughout the weeks you can always begin you course work early. YES- you can do this; have a picture of your favorite car, a special place or something that you can focus on to keep you going. YES-it is going to be tough and chances are you will reach “burnout”-just be prepared.

Online colleges bring the admissions department to your doorstep, letting you get your paperwork arranged without setting food on campus. Here's what you need to do to get into one of these colleges:

1. Make a to-do list

Check the college's admissions page and see what paperwork you will need to submit and when. In most cases this will be straight forward, but some degrees may require letters of recommendation or physicals.

2. Send in an application

This will require some common personal information on hand like your address and date of birth as well as your academic history and planned course of study. If you need to include an essay, write it beforehand and paste it from your word processor.

3. Start the scholarship and loan process

Begin by filling out the FAFSA form, the U.S. government's universal form for financial aid. Make sure to include the school code for the college you want to attend; if you have already filled out the FAFSA, you can go back onto your account and add a school code. It takes about two weeks for the school to receive your financial information once you've made this change.

4. Request transcripts and test scores

For previously credits to be applied to your current degree you will need to have official transcripts sent from the institutions you attended. This will almost always require that a written request be mailed to the college. Often getting proof of high school graduation will only require a phone call. If you earned concurrent credit by taking a college course through the high school you will still need a transcript sent from the participating college.

Many colleges will also require ACT or SAT scores. Like transcripts, these will need to be sent by the testing companies. If you have not taken one of these tests, you can sign up for a local test from their websites.

5. Talk to your advisors

Once the college has your financial and scholastic information you can start working out what you will need to take and how you will need to pay for it. They will help you arrange your education to meet your specific needs.

In 2009, online class enrollment was up 17% among students enrolled in on-campus colleges and universities. This means in 2009, more than 4.6 million students took online courses last year, which is a total of 25% of college students. Growth in higher education overall was only 1.2%.

Tip: Critics of online college programs argue that in an online environment, there just isn’t enough interaction with classmates or teachers. The opposite is true. In a traditional classroom setting, you can choose to sit in the back of the classroom and remain silent for most of the semester. In an online classroom environment the professor tracks your interaction or lack of. You must interact with classmates and the instructor on a daily basis, post meaningful and articulate responses, chat, and post critiques on a regular basis -- or your grade will suffer.

Colleges are very important to consider especially if you need something to fall back on. For example, I'm a mom of three girls so going back to college is great since it's something to be proud of. Being a busy stay at home mom only give us some options in life and the best way in most of the time is online especially if you have very young kids to take care of. The schools have to be accredited which means that they did take the strict standard test proving that it's a legit school. If the school has been around for more than 5 years, it's a good sign. Schools open and closes all the time. For example, while I was pregnant with my second child, I went to an accredited school which I did enjoy seeing my teachers and classmates. I graduated and got my certification of "microcomputer applications" before she was born. Fast forward to late 2007. Got the papers stating that school is closing due to the owner filing bankruptcy. It's still going on where the owner of the school keeps pushing the court date further and further it seem. Despite that incident, it doesn't usually happen that way. But the thing was, this school was where I had to be at the campus and not done at home.

if you're working part time and/or full time, find the time where you know for sure that you would be able to do the schoolwork at home. It takes dedication, persistence, and patience to pass and at first, it should take at least 10-15 hours a week. I'm happy to say that I will be starting school on October 13, 2008 of online college course for "Business Management." This course will help me tremendously with my home based business after I pass. Do the orientation and participate each week and you should do fine.
If you're hoping to get some encouragement to go to school by doing it online, some people are not meant to take one which depends what kind of person you are. Do you and are you willing to invest each week for 10-15 hours to study and participate in your schoolwork at home and not get distractions when you really need to? This is only when you are starting out. Do you like to socialize online as well? If you do, then it's great where you would be able to do teamwork kind of work. It earns you lots of points for teamwork in order to pass for sure. Communicate with each other when you can no matter what the situation/problem may arise. Without any notification, you would be dropped out of school online and you're force to pay back what you applied for loans.

Get organize by doing all of the paperwork that was necessary like the financial area in order to help you fund for it where most of it is by student loans. Even with student loans, you would have to pay some out of pocket money. Going to an actual college or university can be hard, especially if you have young children or work long hours.  Adjusting your work schedule around can be difficult.  If you want to go back to school, you may have considered an online college.  Since online college means that you can take your classes when you want, so you can wait until the children go to bed or you can work on it on the weekends when it’s been a busy work week, it might be the best option for you.

Do a general online search for online colleges.  It is better if you search for accredited online colleges, since the accredited schools are the ones that will have a more impressive degree.  If the school is not accredited, some places will discount it, so make sure that you have an accredited online college.
Shortlist a few colleges.  You want to have more than just one online college to choose from on your list.  This will mean that if you find out that some of the colleges are not accredited you won’t be required to do an entire college search again.
Look at reviews.  This can tell you if an online college is considered a good school or not.  Some places will discount online degrees if the college is not considered a good school, so make sure that you look at the reviews.  If you find some reviews on news websites, this is a good source to consider.  Blogs are a good source for finding out about public opinions about online colleges.
Sign up for online classes at a college that has a physical university or college.  Something like the University of Phoenix.  This is not only an accredited school, but if you have a degree from schools like this, they will carry much more weight than an online college that doesn’t have a physical location.
