Phonics Math
My step daughter has moved in with us and she is really behind in her schooling, does hooked on phonics work?
My step-daughter is in 4th grade and reads at a 2nd. grade level. I guess the teachers at her old school didn't care and would pass her just to get her out of their hair and now she is really behind in her math and reading. Her teachers said that she is really tring but is having a lot of trouble. I love this little girl to death and would do anything to help her. We have though about hooked on phonics but not sure if it would really help. Any suggestion?
I would recommend a tutor program. Here in town there is one called Syllvin, or something like that. They have great success getting kids up to speed and building their confidence. I understand the center here uses teachers that really want to teach but were limited by their school district on how and what to teach.
