Gifts for Montessori School?

Hi, My 4 year old is going to a montessori school. He just started recently and I am not familiar with the concepts in US. During valentines day and thankskgiving etc, he used to get small gifts or cards from other kids but I never sent any since I didnt know I had to send it with him. Plus montessory school itself is so expensive that I didnt feel the need to do something extra. This christmas I am thinking of sending something for his classmates and teacher, so that my son doesnt feel left out or his teachers dont think that he never gets anything. I need to know certain things:
1) Is it necessary to send gifts for classmates/teacher during ocassions like valentines day, halloween, thanskgiving, christmas, etc.
2) If yes, what type of gifts do I send and what price range?
3) Is it necessary to gift teachers too during these occasions?
4) Do we need to send gift for teachers on last day of school?
5) My sons class has 3 teachers, do I need to send gifts for all 3 of them?

I think it's nice to give a little something to all the teachers. What I would do for the classmates is maybe make a batch of cookies or some treat that you make or you can make little goody bags filled with candy or whatever. For the teachers, maybe if it's Christmas, a nice ornament; sometimes just a gift certificate is nice in that way they can go out and buy whatever they want. I don't know how much you are willing to spend, but these are some of the things that I would do.
I guess it's not a requirement that you have to give everyone something, but it's kind of nice because you are showing that you appreciate their work.

I would read it if the story was interesting, detailed and well-written. However I've never seen maybe books with that storyline around. The only occurence I can remember was a secondary storyline in a Suzanne Brockmann novel (I believe it was Gone too Far). I believe it really added to the story, which also dealt with contemporary interracial relationships.

People who work for the taser companies insist they are safe, but I'm not so sure. Not when they have killed as many people as they have. When someone is insistent that they are safe it is important to see who they work for and if they have studies, who did the studies and who funded the studies.

Does anyone have any ideas how I can raise autism awareness in my school?

I will be a senior in high school this fall. After high school i want to be a special education teacher and work with autistic kids. A lot of people in my school make fun of kids in the special education classes and I'm sick of it. I think it is mostly because they do not understand. I this problem can be solved and someone needs to do something, and start somewhere. Anyone have any ideas how i can raise autism awareness in my high school?

1. Start a Disabilities club in your school and invite interested people to join it. Some club topics that can be discussed is Autism Awareness, Disabilities Awareness, and Disability Etiquette. Invite various PWDs to speak at your club.

2. Pass out pamphlets that explains Autism.

For many cycling enthusiasts, knee pain is something that they regularly experience. This pain is caused by iliotibial tissue, and in medical jargon is usually referred to as IT band syndrome. This tissue is thick and fibrous, and runs between the hip and the knee. Because of the constant up and down movement of the legs in cycling, it starts to get stretched. Soon the stretched tissue starts to rub against the bony areas of the hip or knees - and that's when the pain starts.

Quite often beginners are more likely to suffer from this type of pain. That's because they get over excited and ride for hours without paying attention to their knees or feet. There are some other possible causes too, including wrong sitting position, faulty saddle, cleat alignment, hard riding, and individual body anatomy. There's not much you can do to reduce the pain apart from cycle more slowly. Doing this gives the body a chance to get used to the physical stress caused by cycling. Stretching exercises and minimal hard riding can also help lessen the pain.

It's a good idea to check the adjustment of your seat. When it's exactly right, there's a lot less pressure on the knees. Pain tends to develop behind the knee if the seat is too high, and in the patella if the seat is too low. Ask the salesperson at the cycle store to help fix the seat at the correct height when you're purchasing your bicycle.

The cleats are another component that need to be checked. Their position needs to be neutral, so that they don't float too much internally or externally. A bike shop can check the shoe position using the 'fit kit' method.

Another type of knee pain sometimes experienced during cycling is chondromalacia. This occurs because the cartilage behind the patella is subjected to constant pressure during cycling. Stretching and strengthening the quadriceps muscle, which runs along the front of the thigh, can help reduce this discomfort. You can sit on a chair to stretch the leg. Try to keep your legs straight while pedaling and avoid sideward movement.

Sometimes just resting the knee or applying ice packs can reduce the pain. It's also sensible to reduce your cycling time until the pain in your knee or hip subsides. Avoid riding at high speeds and along bumpy roads for a while, even after the pain has gone. It can also be helpful to do some mild stretching exercises and ice the knee both before and after your ride, to help keep the muscles loose. Make sure you keep your legs warm if it's cold, too.

If you find that the pain keeps occurring, it's important that you visit your doctor or sports clinic for an accurate diagnosis of the cause of the pain and appropriate treatment.

What if you could design a car, what type of creature comforts would you want?

Me? First and foremost, I'd design a car that's affordable. As far as creature comforts? Every car that I designed would have A/C. Not only in the front, but A/C in the back and above! Plush deep bucket seats! The kind that feels like you're sitting in a lazy boy chair! Height adjustable seats! (For short people like myself. So I can reach the peddles of course.) Multiple CD player, MP3 player, Mega, Gigantic stereo system! Lot's of pockets to hide CD's in. Uncomplicated removable seats! (So when you're vaccuming your car, you can just pop those puppies out and throughly clean your car! What about you?

I'd put cup holders that can fit a 1 liter Nalgene bottle. And every car should have sun visor extensions that you can slide out when that pesky sun insists on peeking thorugh.
