I have taken the bold step of officially not caring anymore what the government, Wall Street, big banks, lobbyists, Republicans and Democrats do. I refuse to be engaged with any of it any longer because it doesn't matter one microscopic iota. I am no longer going to vote, an exercise in futility if ever there's been one. I used to think it was my duty as an American to vote proud and loud. No longer. It's validating corrupt politicians in a corrupt system. You vote one bad seed out, and another one takes his place. I'm done.

I've got a really excellent life, and I'm not wasting anymore of it howling at the political moon. I refuse to continue being an unwilling participant in my own demise. There's a real feeling of exasperation and anger when you get to this point, but the overall feeling is one of liberation. I'm walking away from the landscape of idiots until someone can prove to me with overwhelmingly strong evidence that things really have changed. I'm talking about change that we can actually believe in, that is as real as the continuing financial chaos we've been duped into paying for.

I do have hope, but not a whole lot of it. Maybe we have to sink so low that the growing and very real populist rage snowballing around the country will force change upon the scoundrels of the "same-old-same-old" guard. And so I refuse right here and now to continue beating my head against The Great Wall Street of Corruption. Maybe a viable third party with a meaningful populist conscience will spring up out of the dung heap of the other two. You never know, though it's extremely doubtful.

When your voice no longer counts, and it hasn't for a brutally long time, there's no reason to keep using it to no avail. We've all been shouted down by the greedy arrogance of those who were supposed to be guarding the hen house. But, they're all wolves in fine-tailored fat-cat suits with the best health insurance our money can buy, plus bank accounts and stock options to match. And, any politician who has the guts to make waves will soon become an untouchable outcast blacklisted by the ruling elite. There will be no more lobbyist money lining his pockets. I'm somewhat ashamed it's taken me all this time to finally reach the tipping point. But, I'm grateful that the dam has finally burst.

Now I'm going to do something that really matters: lift dumbbells, drink diet cola and watch sports.
